- How to Resolve "Unrecognized Database Format" Error in MS Access Database
We are running the latest version Access with a multi-user Database which we are having issues with. This problem is intermittent so will work fine for a few hours or a few days but will then become problematical. The only time the database crashes is when there is more than one user and a record is being created. This program has been running without issue for many years, so I believe it may be an issue with an update.
The problem started happening a few months ago but looking back cannot pinpoint when having had no changes made to the Access front end program. This thread is locked.

Not sure what could be causing this issue. It might be due to multiple locks operating on the database file simultaneously or multiple users edit in real time. I would suggest you try export this database to another database to see if it makes help. Here is Export a database object to another Access database for your reference. Each user has its own front end. Since they believe it was an OS update that caused the issue, what about rolling back Windows Updates around the time the issue started occurring for you? Or there is no other front end somewhere attached to the back end? John W. Another way such corruption can arise is if there are users connecting over an unstable network: Access is very demanding! A faulty NIC, a wireless connection, connecting over the Internet, all can do this.

Not sure I am too keen to mess with the registry on 5 computers and a Server so I guess I have to live in hope that Microsoft come up with a fix.
